Jonathan Paxman is the Program Leader in Mechatronics at Curtin University, and has been a member of the Desert Fireball Network team since early in 2012. After receiving his PhD in Control Systems from the University of Cambridge in 2003, Jonathan worked in robotics and sensor systems with applications in mining, agriculture, urban rescue and disability support. He contributes to the Desert Fireball Network project on a wide range of hardware, software and technical issues.

 

Jonathan has a particular interest in the outreach aspect of Fireballs in the Sky: with four young sons at home, he is keenly aware of the importance of inspiring the next generation of scientists and engineers.
