Ellie Sansom joined the team in December 2012 and thinks herself very lucky for being given this opportunity. Ellie moved from the UK to start her PhD working on the Desert Fireball Network. She recently completed her Masters in Geophysics and will be trying to increase the accuracy of the team’s predictions of where meteorites may have fallen. Ellie will also be looking at determining the orbits that the space rocks were travelling before they entered the atmosphere and became fireballs.
Ellie has always been captivated by the stars and has been an amateur astronomer from the age of 14 when she was given her first telescope. She also loves photography so this fascinating project incorporates all of her passions. Ellie is looking forward to taking heaps of fantastic photos of outer space!
